Was effective for almost two years This was not a terrible keyboard. Don't be fooled by its silver-metal look, it's all plastic, and flimsy plastic at that. It even bends a bit with the pressure of typing. Nevertheless, it otherwise feels reasonably similar to a real Apple keyboard.In Feb 2022 I bought it. By mid 2023 some letters on keys started to fade. By now there is no letter C or N (see included photo) and writing them back with a permanent marker fades quickly. More recently, it will suddenly inappropriately make some typed letters capital, so I'll be typing SeNteEncES LiKE THiS. That problematic effect comes and goes randomly.So, after almost two years it's time to ditch this keyboard. Maybe that's not all that bad overall. I believe my other keyboards lasted longer, but they also cost more.
Excellent light, low profile mini keyboard I really like the layout and feel of my laptop keyboard so I found this little mini keyboard with low profile keys and similar functions. It's a perfect replacement when I cannot have my laptop open or need to use it for other work.
Nice keyboard My son uses it on the Mac Book and he loves the raised keys. It's was super easy to connect, the only issue was that the Mac doesn't have a USB port so I had to get an adapter.
Perfect Size And Good Contrast Between Keys And Background. I search Amazon for quite some time looking for the right wired keyboard that would help my poor eyes easily make out the keys. I saw many that would have done except that they were all monochromatic, not good. After getting discouraged, I clicked on a blurry photo that turned out to be this model and I'm glad I did! The black keys against the silver background is just what I was looking for, I can't believe more manufactures don't realize how important this can be!It arrived quickly and I was immediately satisfied as soon as I took it out of the box. In testing the spacing of the keys seems to be a near exact match as that on the laptop I'm replacing. The Keys have a little more resistance than what I am used to but I think is not really a big deal. The Fn key is in a bad spot in my opinion, but again, not too big of a deal. The only thing that could make me like this keyboard any more than I do now is if it were made of aluminum instead of plastic! Again, not a big deal!! As you can see from the photo attached I'm using this with my new setup, an Elitedesk 800 G4 Mini paired with a third party small touchscreen monitor and usb mouse. I plan to replace my laptop with this setup and needed everything to be small for portability. This keyboard really completes the setup, I'm so happy!!!
Fantastic! Nice replacement , I preferred a wired keyboard instead of a one with Bluetooth because I have too much wireless - Bluetooth devices close to each other and it was time to go back to basic, keyboard is clicky lightweight and is not as expensive as a brand product, take a look at the comparison. Recommended!
Feels exactly like my MacBook keyboard I bought this Macally USB keyboard so I could elevate my MacBook laptop on a stand and sit up straight to work.Oh, wow, I love this keyboard!WHAT I LIKE:-- It's nice and "clicky," so when I touch-type I can tell what I have typed.-- The keys are "scissor" mount keys, which is my favorite feel on a keyboard.-- It is exactly the same size as my MacBook keyboard, with the same size keys.-- It is USB powered, which I like. Even though it uses up one of my USB ports, the keyboard response is much better and more predictable than with a bluetooth connection.-- The "space gray" color is attractive, and matches my MacBook well.WHAT I DON'T LIKE:-- The DEL + Fn key doesn't work the same as on my MacBook. I like to DELETE forward sometimes, and this key combo doesn't do it, it only DELETEs backward. I haven't found a key combination on the Macally that does DELETE forward yet.-- The keys are not backlit. I know the manufacturer didn't say the keys were backlit so it's not actually a fault, but still, backlit keys are SO helpful in a dark room or cubicle.
A Basic Keyboard That Has Proven To Be A Reliable Workhouse I have used the Macally Compact Wired Keyboard with my Mac Mini M1 for just about 2 years now. It has been exceptionally reliable with no key failures. As an entertainment podcaster I have written thousands of pages of scripts for my show on this keyboard and the keys don't feel any different than the day I started using it.Yes, the Keyboard is of all plastic construction. And yes, if you pick the unit up in both hands it is quite flexible. But that's not a realistic use case. So don't let that stop you from getting this unit.I got it when it was a regular stock item for about $30 Canadian. But for a basic, budget keyboard, it has punched way above it's weight.I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again at a similar price point.

Works well but keys are fading It works well and the size is similar to the Mac keyboard. It’s very light though and feels cheap. Also, after only two years some keys are starting to fade.
Good enough for me It is made of plastic, but quality is good. Light and Portable. All hot key works (I use windows), typing feels good.

Good purchase I need to get use to this keyboard. It's kind of loud when typing but it's pretty sturdy. It doesn't move around when I type or anything. it was good for the price. I hope it doesn't give out on me, that way I would use it for everything. It's really nice and matches my space gray Mac. Good purchase overall. I have not used it for gaming because I don't game and I wouldn't exactly consider this ergonomic to be honest.
A top quality, well made keyboard! I took touch typing during my freshman year in high school. I am 78 years old and have lost count of how many keyboards I have used since. It's a lot. This Macally Compact Wired Keyboard for Mac and Windows is outstanding. The key action is crisp. I have already used used it with several iMacs. It performed flawlessly with each computer; and I greatly appreciate the features like the LEDs for caps lock, power, etc. And the "extra" labelling on some of the keys is very helpful when you use the keyboard on both a Mac and Windows computer. It's very light weight is a plus if you want to take it along with your laptop. I would buy this keyboard again.

Holds my aggressive writing Is perfect for me. I’m a writer and I tend to aggressively click to hard and to fast. Because I didn’t want to break my laptops I bought this and I’ll love it.
But this over the cheap ones, trust me! Great buy! Definitely don’t go for the cheaper ones.

Perfect Size Keyboard I have a Mac air mid 2012 and keyboard stopped working. It’s about $300-$400 to fix. So might as well buy a new laptop. While I save the money this keyboard has been a perfect size fit to get me back and running.

Do the job I bought this keyboard to use with my new mac mini 2020 M1, it works fine, it has the same key layout and size as the 13 "mac book pro.The silver color is the same as the mac.
If you looking for a "Space Grey" mac style keyboard...look elsewhere The keyboard functionality is good. If you're looking for a simple keyboard that "looks" decent, you have found it. I was looking for either a black or dark (space)-grey keyboard to aesthetically match the Apple products on my desk and this is NOT that, it's light grey almost silver. Also, the keyboard is not "durable" build quality. It looks to be fresh from China built from very thin and light-weight plastic. Not the accessory you want on your primary desktop for gaming....perhaps a better use is "portability" but it has a cord so that seems counterproductive. So yes, it functions as a keyboard...but it depends on your needs, not mine when making this choice.
excellent quality and perfect for applications needing a small keyboard I often have need of a keyboard with a small footprint for special projects, such as the one in the picture I am building for my granddaughter. It is hard to find good quality, small keyboards. This keyboard has excellent key response, and the build quality is very good as well. It is compatible with a wide variety of operating systems and ecosystems (apple, android, windows, etc). I connected it via USB-2 to a Raspberry Pi-4 running Linux, and it worked out of the box. I'll be using this again in future projects - I have 5 grandchildren, who all need presents from Granddaddy! I highly recommend this keyboard.
Good price! I thought that I would rather have a ”full size” keyboard when I take my laptop to be connected/used in my newly created workstation. Nope! Ergonomically its fine and certainly does the job. Since it's anchored to this workstation having a wired USB means not having to hassle Bluetooth and/or battery issues.
Great keyboard for price I love this keyboard. It is set up quite close to our iMac keyboard.Nt quite as "flat" keyed and a little noisier but has a great angle for typing. No issues with sticking keys and no hand/wrist fatigue..

functional I've had this keyboard since beginning of May. It's still functional but some of the letters on the keys are disappearing and there is some color coming off the keyboard. I don't think this was built for daily use.
tried two others before I got lucky and found this I'm not sure if the angle in my photo shows this well but this keyboard is 100% the exact same size as my actual Macbook Pro 13inch keyboard. Most of the models on Amazon are 0.5inches smaller and the fold up ones have some different shaped keys that are annoying to type with. The keys on this one don't stick or skip letters at all. They have a nice normal click feel. It never goes to sleep because it's plugged in, unlike the bluetooth models that go to sleep after 10 seconds. I don't have to buy batteries either since it's powered on by being plugged into the laptop. It sits at a comfortable angle. Honestly I just really love this product. If they sold a backlit key model I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Works beautifully Does what is supposed to do. Even though it looks like a mac product it does not feel like a Mac keyboard when typing which is not an issue once you get used to it. It has the mac command key.
Great aesthetics and feel for the buck Sometimes wireless, for various reasons, doesn’t work. Call me old-fashioned but I like the dependability of a wired USB device. This Space Gray is far more pleasing to the eyes than its white colored predecessor. Very light and good key feel (possibly ever so slightly better than the previous model but not quite as nice as the MacBook’s). Although I would have preferred metal, this totally does the job at a great price point.
Good quality for price. Not a quiet keyboard though. Very lightweight so it feels cheap but the quality of the keys and construction doesn’t feel cheap. The keys are thin but they aren’t quiet like a MacBook one, it clacks when typing. Instant plug and play on windows laptop and MacBook Pro. All keys work as expected. Overall, good quality and functionality for the price. Just wish it was a quieter keyboard.
Perfect for my iMac I am using the keyboard to type this review. I needed to replace my iMac desktop, keyboard. This is not as good as the original but, it was much cheaper than buying a Mac . I just plugged it in and it worked. No other set up was needed. I like that is is slim and tiny. It it a bit clunkier than my Mac so I have to get used to typing on it.Overall, it is good for the price but, not great. I will eventually get the original keyboard when I have more $ to spend. This will do fine for now.
Keyboard works except function key and it is loud I had to get this keyboard because my built in one broke. I like I can use the keyboard from far away. Everything works except the FN function key. Also it is loud when you type on it just like a regular desktop keyboard with the large big keys as opposed to flat ones. Also you have to unplug and replug it in every time you want to use the keyboard after waking up the macbook from sleep.
Simple and cost effective. I have an older Mac Book Pro that eventually some of the keys on my keyboard stopped working. For the time being I figured I would try this until the time came to buy a new laptop. Didn't really have high expectations given the great price and due to some reviews. Buut, I was actually impressed! Super thin, light and didnt look cheap at all. Not as quiet as Apples keyboard but still doesnt have that loud clacking sound either. Once plugged in it literally asked me to press a couple of keys and thats it! All connected. You can even dim the screen lighting from the keyboard, definitely recommend.

The keyboard is great. Lightweight and easy to type on. It picks up where my old keyboard left off, so it was easy to adjust to. Had to plug it into a new port, supposedly because the "battery" was low. Since there is no battery with this model, just changing then port seemed to solve the problem.
This is what I was looking for, a compact, wired Mac keyboard that wasn't as expensive as Apple's version. I just wanted a basic Mac keyboard and fortunately, MacAlly had it. It has behaved well!
